Modern Greed
This painting illustrates the addictive nature of convenience and the harmful impact of consumerist habits on individuals and the environment.
I chose to depict a pile of boxes—on the left, opened and stacked, while on the right, unopened boxes represent the recurring cycle of consumption.
The light symbolizes the fleeting satisfaction one feels upon receiving a package; however, much like the light, this temporary gratification fades quickly, and the cycle of yearning for the next package begins again.
