Hyperactive Nature

This quilt is meant to explore the commodification of nature through visually aesthetic branding.

I stitched together fragments of wrappers, cereal boxes, and shopping bags—everyday symbols of consumerism—alongside digitally altered images of nature printed on fabric. The quilt’s weight pulls down the hanger, emphasizing the heavy impact of consumerism on the environment.

By mimicking the artificiality of product packaging, the quilt symbolizes our comfort with consumer goods, shaped by their convenience and visual appeal. This piece invites reflection on the long-term consequences of environmental commodification.
